The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified a new strain of the virus that causes acute pneumonia of the coronavirus family - a large family of viruses that can cause mild to severe illnesses like the common cold or cases of MERS and SARS.

To date, more than 65 people have been infected or suspected of contracting pneumonia in China and two have died from the coronavirus strain. All cases are people who came to or lived in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Currently, Thailand and Japan have reported cases of strange pneumonia caused by a coronavirus (CoV). Vietnam has two suspected cases of fever at the border, but all have negative results.

The World Health Organization (WHO) warns of the risk of a larger outbreak in the context of a large number of Chinese 1.4 billion people traveling abroad during the Chinese New Year 2020. This fact makes Health officials fear the disease may spread to other parts of the world.

Symptoms and prevention of viral pneumonia:

Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and diffuse pneumonia on the x-ray.

To proactively prevent and control epidemics at risk of penetration, we need:

  • Maintain personal hygiene (wash your hands often with soap, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, wear a mask and isolate yourself when signs of breathing ...).
  •  Limit close contact with animal or wildlife farms.
  • Those who return from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China or have close contact with a person with pneumonia in Wuhan City within 14 days of signs of fever, cough, difficulty breathing, need to immediately the nearest health facility for timely consultation, examination and treatment.
