There are two typical: good fats and bad fats. Trans fat belongs to the group of bad fats that cause heart disease. They are formed in the process of food processing by hydrogenation while cooking in order to preserve food longer and tasty.
Trans fats exist in natural foods also industrial foods including meat, cakes, cookies, pies. Specifically, trans fat can be found in many foods such as:
• Cakes: crackers, cookies, cakes, cakes, baked goods and other baked foods
• Fast food: fried chicken, pizza, chips
• Fried foods: potato cake, banana cake, donut
• Processed foods: popcorn, snacks, instant noodles
• Shortening and margarine: margarine of different types (bars and bottles)
Trans fat accumulates on the blood vessels. Over time, the thick layer will block the circulation causing blood vessel blockage and leading to the risk of stroke.
Besides, cholesterol increases leading to higher rates of cardiovascular disease. Trans fats also inhibit enzymes in metabolism, form blood clots and increase the risk of stroke.
Cut all foods which contain trans fats and replace good fats. A healthy diet will help you have a healthy heart and improve quality of life.
